Due to to the Covid19 lockdown rule for those over 65 (Diane) and under 19 (all her students), Saturday Art experiences have been temporarily ceased...except for a recent Tuesday when Daryl (71), single father of Daniel (6) needed to withdraw money from his bank in Dumaguete and couldn't take Daniel with him.
Thus, Ma'am Diane became the lucky choice for taking care of Daniel.
As always, time together was richly chaotic with new and old projects, peppered delightfully with current event stories from Daniel's days of quarantine. Daryl, in spite of his dedicated home schooling efforts, was experiencing mild frustrations with his son's slow reading/writing progress. Wanting to capture some of our day's stories and events to show his dad when he returned, Daniel and I sat together to DRAW individual storyboards of them. Here are our two versions:

The last two boxes are of Daniel at his first-time garden plot, and his father's motorcycle:

To begin my illustrations, I started with their arrival at the house but was immediately stymied (am motorcycle-drawing-challenged), so had to ask him to show me how to draw one:

Beginning with back wheel, then downward to the front wheel complete with headlight, he'd drawn it VERTICALLY.
Seemed an amazing feat to me.
My storyboard for some of our activities that day:

The last box is of Daniel cutting out the motorcycle he'd drawn for me, as well as what he considered a better illustration of him, than mine, learning to touch-type at the computer.
POST SCRIPT: last Saturday Daniel again visited while his father had to go into Dumaguete. I discovered he's a whiz at telling time, easily adding the five-minute increments of the big hand to the hour the little hand is at. He's SIX! I think I was in Jr. High School before I could read a clock.
