First of two etchings in an unintentional series while learning to use power tools for building a boat. After etching the drawing, the central figure was cut away from the copper plate with a bandsaw, the 'refuse' pieces' edges were filed, reassembled mirror-fashion beneath the now missing, central figure, inked and printed.
The inking technique is termed, a la poupée, used for the central figure, which creates a similar but unique coloring to each print pulled.
The trimmed excess pieces created an embossed labyrinth in the paper.
A frame was designed and hand-crafted for my personal print which now lives with one of my relatives. Other prints may still be around...
